Can I choose locations for my TV and phone rough-ins?

In most cases, you can choose where you would like your telephone and cable rough‐ins, however, we cannot guarantee that they will be placed exactly where you choose. If there is not an electrical receptacle near the location you have chosen, it may be necessary to place the rough‐ins closer to an electrical outlet. In some cases if this is of importance we will encourage you to upgrade both the cable boxes and receptacles at the same time so location meets your needs

What’s the difference between a free standing and slide‐in range?

What’s the difference between a free standing and slide‐in range?

A freestanding range is a standard type range with the controls on the back. These ranges slide back against the wall. There is a small gap between the range top and counter‐top and the counter‐top is cut‐out right to the back of the wall and the edges are finished. A slide‐in range has no back and the controls are located on the front of the unit, the sides of the range are unfinished. The cut‐out needed for a slide in range is different than for a free standing range in that the cut‐out does not go right to the wall, there will be a piece of counter‐top that will run across the back creating an upside‐down “U” shape. The range then slides into this cut‐out giving a built‐in appearance. The counter‐top also does not have a back splash as with a standard counter‐top, it is flush (flat) right back to the wall.

Does the microwave cabinet adjustment include the micro‐fan appliance?

Does the microwave cabinet adjustment include the micro‐fan appliance?

The cabinet adjustment does not include the micro‐fan appliance. The builder will install the standard hood fan. It is the homeowner's responsibility to purchase and install the unit after taking possession of their home. You must also provide the builder with the dimensions (specs) of the micro‐fan appliance you plan to install. The builder requires the specs for your micro‐fan as the cabinet will be customized to fit your appliance. You must provide these specs prior to the fabrication of your kitchen.

What is an upper corner diagonal door unit, and why is it a structural item?

What is an upper corner diagonal door unit, and why is it a structural item?

An upper corner diagonal door is a corner cabinet with the door on a 45 degree angle. This creates a deeper cabinet that is very useful for holding oversize plates, platters, or when combined with a glass door, decorative items. This creates more usable cabinet space for you and avoids the “dead corners” created where standard cabinetry boxes join. The reason this item is considered structural is that in most homes there is a bulkhead in the kitchen (box built over the cabinets) this bulkhead is framed on a 90 degree angle. When an upper corner diagonal door unit is installed the bulkhead must be framed at 45 degrees to follow the shape of the unit, therefore the builder must know of this item prior to framing.

What is a zero‐clearance fireplace?

What is a zero‐clearance fireplace?

A zero‐clearance fireplace is a factory‐built gas fireplace. The unit is constructed so that it can safely be placed close to combustible materials. A zero clearance gas fireplace is an ideal way to add a fireplace to your new construction without the expense of building a masonry fireplace structure. This cost saving is passed down from the builder to you.

Why is the optional door from the garage not available for my lot? (if applicable)
